I live in the most beautiful part of the world - Cascais, Portugal. For those clients who are based in Lisbon region (Cascais, Estoril, Sintra or Lisbon) I am also offering walk and talk therapy sessions.
What is walk and talk therapy?
A lot of clients I work with struggle to find time for themselves outside of their therapy sessions. Many find it more difficult to open up, talk, think or feel while sitting still. Some clients have a love for nature and enjoy walking outside. Some are already stuck in the office or in front of computers all day long. Walk and talk therapy is a wonderful way to implement movement in the therapeutic process and to support my clients while offering some of the benefits of a nature based-lifestyle.
Movement, green spaces, ocean and generally being in nature are all linked to improvement in mental health. It helps to reduce stress, anger, anxiety, depression and literally walking through some of the key issues while improving health in a holistic way.
Similarly as with a more traditional indoor or virtual therapy walk and talk therapy is a confidential, safe space with a clear boundaries around outdoor working.
Before starting outdoor sessions, I have a 15 mins introductory call with all clients, where we cover goals of therapy and also reasons for wanting therapy for outdoors.
Fee: 90 Euros per session
Where: Routes are agreed with clients individually, usually it is a walk (or sit down) along the beach, in the park or river front. The pace of walking is adapted for each client.
